Rabat - Morocco has raised its security alert to the highest level following last week's terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France.
The Moroccan authorities are said to have raised the security alert to the maximum in the wake of Friday's 26th terrorist attacks that left at least seventy people dead in three countries.
Instructions have been given to the various security services to take the necessary preventative measures and to be prepared to face potential terrorist threats.
According to media reports, the Moroccan authorities are also increasing vigilance to help maintain safety and security around sensitive sites, including hotels, synagogues and churches.
This comes after terror group the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, claimed responsibility for the deadly shoot out in Tunisia, as well as the attacks in France and Kuwait .
The killings also came after chilling threat from the extremist group that the holy month of Ramadan 'will have lots of surprises.'
The group promised 'tenfold' reward in paradise for "martyrs" who target 'the unbelievers' during the holy month of Ramadan in comparison to other months.
"So, O Muslims embark and hasten towards Jihad. And O mujahidin everywhere, rush and move to make Ramadan a month of disaster for the Kuffar (unbelievers)," read the ISIS statement urging Jihadists to carry out attack against westerners.
It remains unclear whether the attacks on the Tunisian resort town of Sousse, a decapitation and an attempt to blow up an American-owned gas factory in France and the suicide bombing at a Kuwaiti Shiite mosque during Friday prayers were coordinated or connected.
