The head of government, Mr. Benkirane has finally broken his silence over the Istiqlal Party's decision to quit the coalition. Sounding a confident tone, the head of government made it clear that he refuses to reply to the memorandum submitted by Hamid Chabat, the IP secretary general for the simple reason that it contains insults rather than constructive criticism.

Chabat had submitted a memorandum to the royal cabinet announcing the IP's decision to withdraw from the coalition government, a consensus reached within the party's national council.

In his address during a PJD meeting over the weekend in Bouznike, while sounding an unwavering tone, Mr. Benkirane asserted that the PJD is ready to deal with all the possibilities ensuing from the IP's decision including the scheduling of new elections.

Benkirane renewed his faith in the coalition, which he described as "harmonious and stable". On the same occasion, Mr. Benkirane reiterated the government's commitment to undertake drastic reforms in several ailing sectors so as to overcome the economic crisis.

On the other side, the debate is heated among the IP members who have started to contest Chabat's “obstinacy” to quit the coalition.

Talking about the government's achievements, Mr. Benkirane said, "It is the first time that our students study a whole year as they have been able to finish their syllabus, public deals are now brokered in total transparency as well as appointment procedures".

Benkirane added solemnly, “It is our destiny to be in office after the crisis. It is our destiny to save the country and we will save it by God's will.”
