Rabat - The Moroccan national volleyball team on Thursday claimed the men's African Nations Championship Bronze medal after defeating their Algerian counterparts in a game held in Cairo, Egypt.
The Moroccans won 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20), to claim the third spot.
The Moroccan team managed to win the third place following wins against Algeria, Cameroun, Rwanda, and Mauritius. Morocco only lost to Tunisia in the semi-finals phase.
Egypt beat Tunisia in straight sets in the Egyptian capital Cairo also on Thursday to win their sixth straight African Volleyball Championship title.
Egypt won the men's African Nations Championship title 7 times while Tunisia have won the prestigious title eight times.
Egypt and Tunisia are both qualified for the Men's 2015 World Cup in Japan due to be held from 8 to 23 September.
The World Cup is a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Morocco's Mohamed Hachdadi was named the best attacker of the tournament. Egypt's Ahmed Salah was named the competition's best player.
