Marrakech- The 13th edition of the Marrakesh Film Festival kicked off on Friday night in the red city with a warm tribute to American actress Sharone Stone.
The actress thanked King Mohammed VI and Prince Moulay Rachid, adding that she attends the festival after a suggestion by American director Martin Scorsese.
Scorsese said that he was “happy” to be in Morocco, which he considered as his “second country.”
He expressed his sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI, as well as to Prince Moulay Rachid, President of Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was undoubtedly the vibrant tribute festival actress Sharon Stone who received the star of MIFF from the hand of Martin Scorsese.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of renowned figures in the film industry, including Egyptian stars Adil Imam, Yousra and Izat El Alayli.
