Rabat- According to Spanish news portal La Información, two Moroccan individuals were arrested in Madrid and accused of leading an international criminal network dedicated to the illegal traffic of cars.
The two individuals aged 30 and 36 were arrested after they stole 22 cars from a dealership in the Spanish capital. According to same source, the arrest took place less than a week after this spectacular robbery.
The suspects were caught red-handed as they were inside a garage trying to steal another car.
So far, the police was able to retrieve 18 cars, which were “strategically stationed at different points of the Community of Madrid and surrounding provinces.”
The individuals, who are suspected of stealing premium cars, manipulated the cars’ license plates and chassis numbers in order to send them to the rest of the African continent via Morocco.
The value of 22 cars stolen by the two individuals amounts to 800,000 euros.
