INDH: King Mohammed VI King Launches Several Medico-Social Projects in Rabat

Rabat - King Mohammed VI launched, Friday in Rabat, several medico-social projects, as part of the large-scale anti-poverty program "the National Initiative for Human Development,"known by its French acronym INDH.

The King launched construction works of socio-educational center “Madinat Al Amane” in the Youssoufia district, a multi-purpose health pole in Hay Annahda, and a socio-educational complex “Al Majd” in Yaâcoub Al Mansour.

With a budget of 145.5 million dirhams, these projects , which are part of the 2014-2018 Integrated Development Program dubbed: “Rabat, City of Lights, Morocco's Cultural Capital”, seek to ensure that children living in difficult conditions or with special needs are not left behind through providing them with all the means to enable them have better integration in the educational system, social fabric and professional life.

The socio-educational center “Madinat Al Amane” (100 million dirhams), which the King laid its first stone, aims to take care of orphan children under the age of 18, combat vulnerability and facilitate family and social reintegration.

Spanning over a surface of 1 hectare and 334 square meters, the center is designed to host more than 400 children.
It will consist of 96 beds for children under 3, 164 beds for children aged between 3 and 11, 153 beds for children aged between 12 and 18, a kindergarten, a primary school, computer and tutoring rooms.

The center, which is a result of partnership between INDH and Sanabil Al Kheir association, will be composed of multi-purpose room, 2 libraries, a training workshop, a sports stadium, children’s playgrounds, and commercial spaces whose revenue will be used to ensure management of the future facility.

With a budget of 27.5 million dirhams, the multi-purpose health pole in Hay Annahda is meant to improve the quality of medical services, prevention and treatment of chronic renal insufficiency.
This pole will comprise a haemodialysis center (22 generators), a multi-purpose diagnosis center, a regional hospital maintenance center, and a regional drug depository.

As for socio-educational complex “Al Majd”, it aims to offer training and supervision for unemployed poor young people, contribute to the integration and opening up of new horizons for children and young people with special needs and support children in difficult situation.
With a budget of 18 million dirhams, the project will be composed of a training and integration center, and an orientation center for people with special needs, and a welcome center for children in difficult situation.
