Rabat - A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Friday the coast of the cities of Al Hoceima and Nador, according to the the National Geophysics Institute (CNRST).
The tremor, which occurred at 04:16m am (GM) was followed by another of lesser intensity, with magnitude 4.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was located off Al Hoceima and Nador, according to the same source.
An earthquake of almost the same magnitude struck the region last week. A Magnitude 5.3 quake hit the two coastal cities on Thursday March 3.
This is the third earthquake that hits Morocco in the past two weeks. A 3.4-magnitide quake had hit the central city of Midelt on February 26.
