El Jadida, Morocco - The Moroccan Commission on National Dialogue & New Constitutional Prerogatives launches Program of “Virtual Consultation”.

The Moroccan Commission on National Dialogue & New Constitutional Prerogatives for Civil Society Organizations of Moroccans Residing Abroad has launched a one-of-a-kind initiative that aims at encouraging dialogue among Moroccan citizens living abroad by engaging them in various lawmaking processes and constitutional reforms.

Morocco is entering a new era of “participatory rule of law,” reflecting a great leap forward in legislating and lawmaking by engaging stakeholders via the Internet in the drafting and implementation processes for new laws.

Moroccan citizens can participate virtually by filling out a questionnaire on-line that can be found on [www.hiwarmadani2013.ma.] The questionnaire is then e-mailed to [hiwarmadanimre@mcrpsc.gov.ma.]

All the findings gathered from the questionnaires will be reported to the National Commission to identify significant issues that need to be given high priority.

Participants have a wide range of choices by which they can actively participate in the development of Morocco’s laws and policies. For instance, citizens can send draft legislation, submit petitions, and participate in the evaluation of public policies.

Morocco counts on the growing number of Moroccans residing abroad to take part in the active implementation of Moroccan laws.
