Casablanca- A fishing boat sank in the shore of Tangier on Tuesday morning, just few days after the tragic incident that took place Dakhla. One out of 10 seamen died after the boat 'Karim 2' sank because of an engine failure, the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheris said in a statement.
According to the same source, the boat went out to fish along the shores of Sidi Qassem in Ashqar area. But the crew failed to call the civil protection services as the boat’s suffered an engine failure. Luckily, seamen on another boat that was just around rescued all boat crew and notified the civil protection services.
The Elements of the protection services managed to take the nine men out of the sea and transport them to the regional hospital of Mohamed V in Tangier where one of them died immediately upon his arrival.
The accident takes after three people died while nine others are still unaccounted following the sinking of a fishing boat in the Dakhla, in southern Morocco.
The accident took place on the night of Friday to Saturday (March1) following the collision between a fishing vessel and a coastal fishing boat, according to a new report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries.
