Rabat - King Mohammed VI's expected visit to the city of Kenitra (40km north of Rabat) has been cancelled due to “mistakes” made by Zineb El Adaoui, Wali of Gharb-Chrarda-Beni Hssen region, governor of the province of Kenitra.
According to daily newspaper Al Massae, "Serious" dysfunctions in projects to be inaugurated by the monarch are believed to be behind the decision.
The same source said Governor Zineb El Adaoui gave the green light to anarchically built projects to be included in the list of projects to be inaugurated by the king.
Projects that were expected to be launched by the sovereign or that are already under construction include a wastewater treatment plant, a regional hospital, in addition to the headquarters of the Red Crescent in the Ouled Oujih area.
The Arabic-speaking newspaper added that some of these projects were launched without the necessary planning permissions and without complying with building regulations and other relevant legal requirements.
