Rabat - Meditel has started selling 4G services in Casablanca on Monday.
Customers of Meditel in the country's economic capital can now enjoy advanced capabilities such as high definition video streaming and fast internet speeds with zero buffering.
But to enjoy the benefits of this news service, users will also have to pay a certain fee to switch to the operator's 4G network.
The telecommunications operator is also expected to launch 4G in other Moroccan cities such as Rabat, Sale, Fez, Meknes, Marrakech, Tangiers and Agadir.
Maroc Telecom and INWI are also said to be ready to launch 4G services this week. Both companies have already launched a media campaign announcing the imminent launch of 4G.
The entire country is expected to be covered by the 4G by the end of the year, according to media reports.
Morocco's main mobile operators, Maroc Telecom, Meditel and Inwi, won last March licenses enabling them to operate 4G services.
In addition to delivering a compelling service experience for customers, introducing 4G in the country is expected to see the companies' turnover climb significantly once the service is launched.
According to the Oxford Business Group, mobile providers can achieve an average revenue per user seven to twenty times higher with 4G than with 3G.
