Rabat - The Ministry of Justice has launched a hotline number for the public to report unethical practices across the country such as bribery cases and corruption.

In an effort to reduce bribery and corruption cases plaguing the society, the Ministry of Justice and Freedoms launched a hotline number to encourage people report cases of corruption.

The initiative aims to simplify the administrative and judicial procedures that usually hinder people from registering corruption and bribery complaints.

People will be able to report any case of bribery or corruption by calling the hotline number 08.00.00.47.47 made available by the Ministry of Justice.

The hotline number also aims to protect whistleblowers and their families from repercussions of reporting corruption cases.

Once received, the phone call will be transferred to competent judges who will examine it and open official investigations if enough suspicion or evidence was found to back it.

The Ministry is also said to be planning to launch a public awareness media campaign aimed at informing people about the importance of the initiative and its goals.

The hotline number is currently available in Arabic. Amazigh and French are expected to follow.

The Justice Ministry also announced that court services can be now accessed through Android-operated smartphones as it will launch smartphone apps.

The app can be used to facilitate access to data, process various applications, make and monitor requests for criminal records as well as trading records.
